Another Blank Page
Another Blank Page
I’ll face another blank page and see what my fingers write
Candlelit, but light undone
By feelings that random run
To the nether regions of the heart
Pour out on paper
Blacken the white
I’ll wait and see what my fingers write
They write of love and joy and hate
Of fear and dear and of what holds my fate
My face lined too,
Once blank and clear, now streaked with dirty tears
Of toiling endlessly through the years
But what of love, but what of hate
That creases the paper and my face
What resolve and evolve of beauty I still dream about
Still hope
Still joy in there
Somewhere.
Another blank page awaits…..
