Winter Time
Dark and dreary
Cold and lonely
Gray, black, empty
Winter time, her time
Dismal, cloudy days
Why does she seem to
Accomplish so much?
Sunny and bright
Warm and cheery
Yellow and pink
Full of life
Spring and summer
Why is she so
Unhappy now?
No clear cut answer
Gloom takes over
Joy eludes her
Misery lovers her
Changes make their way
Into her life
Without her consent
The weight of the world
Sits on her shoulders
Buckling her knees
Deep indentions are forever
Sickening feeling in
The pit of her stomach
Longing for winter again.
Traci, thank you. Yes, there is the winter of the season and the winter of the soul.
Hi Andrew.
I am so happy you like my work! I cannot believe the words that pour out of my pen…once I put it to paper!
Written like the real poet you are. Thank you for sharing. Sincerely, Nancy

Nicely done. Perhaps it is that time for the cold winds to blow.
