A Senryu Chain

The soul is darkened
By anger and bitterness
Hiding hope and love

Swallowed up by hate
Buried by paralysis
Without chance of life

Goodness is foreign
Repelled by dark forces
Keeping the soul captive

Frances Ayers

I am a poet who started writing in her forties.I have been published in three facebook anthologies and in online magazines.Some of my poems have been two star finalists on voices.net,and I came in third place in the May 2010 poetry contest.I have created a number of online poetry groups,two of which are on facebook.I also hope to publish a book of short stories some day.I previously worked as a Social Worker with abused and neglected children and their families.

I feel as if you cannot get out of where you are, and hopeless, without any chance of life, you said, keeping the soul captive. I feel a sickness is what you maybe talking to us about, and your soul is you life. excellent, Nancy

Nancy.You are right! When the soul is so totally corrupted by bitterness and hate it is like an illness.I wrote this from the point of view of a soul not seeking redemption.It’s counterpart,”The Souls Joy”,is pending and describes the opposite state.
