This is probably more common than it might seem. Some cultures are very touchy feely, others are not. It is natural to crave a certain amount of that, no matter how old one is…and whichever gender. It is always the same: being denied it when it is legitimately needed or wanted is not pleasant. At the same time, it is also still true that being overwhelmed or smothered by anyone – whether an adult or child, is also very unpleasant – this is true both when it is not and if it is sexual in nature.

Giusi – Thanks for the simple attention to the wonderful pleasure of being touched, as our other friend mentioned. Sincerely, Nancy

MiriamSPia – I agree with you when you speak of cultures, I myself have grown up within two very different cultures, the Sicilians who love to hug, kiss, hug, and kiss again. And the Irish who are more stand offish and would rather not be touched. This is only two cultures through personal experience where every word you have said is the truth. Thanks for the notation and words – they were certainly appreciated. Sincerely, Nancy
