How To Gain Clarity In Your Life

1

Ever felt like your life was a garage that hadn’t been cleaned out for months? Are things piling up as you spend all your time bouncing from one task or goal to the next without ever really fully completing any of them?

Without priorities, and randomly working on one task or goal then another without any clear direction, you find yourself building an ever bigger mountain to overcome.

Becoming more and more overwhelmed, you begin feeling like a dingy being tossed about in a gale on the ocean. Then, because you haven’t really done any of them as well as you could and should, you start feeling frustrated and guilty.

How long has this cycle been going on in your life? Days, months even years of going around in circles has drained you physically, mentally, and emotionally.

These are the times when you truly need to step back, take a deep breath, and walk away from it all for a while in order to regain your clarity on everything.

You’ve heard your inner voice crying for relief. Now it is time you learned how to listen deeply within yourself, moving beyond your emotions, inner blocks or confusion to emerge feeling clear, confident, and knowing just what you need to do next.

Gaining clarity in your life goes well beyond knowing what you want; it is knowing how and why you want it. Clarity in your life starts with narrowing it all down to specific measurable goals. It truly is creating a map so that you know where you want to go, how you are going to get there, and most importantly: WHY you are going.

As with any journey, there is a start point on the path that is your life. If you have been just muddling through up to now, it’s time to lay a foundation for the rest of your journey.

Why are you here?

What is your purpose? Why are you in this world and what is it that you bring to yourself, those around you, and the world as a whole? If you have not already done it, now is the time to figure this out. Here is a good exercise for finding your Life Purpose. For example: because I am extremely passionate about helping people achieve the lives they truly deserve to be living, my life’s purpose is to help them realize and live their dreams.

What do I really want to do that makes me happy?

The first answer that pops into your mind is usually what you daydream or fantasize about – go with it. It is where your passion lies and that’s what will make you happiest.

Now, PURSUE THAT!

Decide at the present moment to concentrate solely on building your dream by investing your time and effort into it. This is not to say that it will happen overnight, it may take a while. As your dream grows, though, so will you.

Pareto’s Law

Vilfredo Pareto, a 19th century Italian economist devised an economic theory which says that 20% of the population earns 80% of the income.

You can apply this principle to your life by considering what 20% of your life brings you 80% of your happiness and fulfillment. You should also examine your life for the 20% that brings you 80% of your distress and unhappiness. By focusing on those two 20%’s of your life you can glean the most happiness and eliminate 80% of your misery at the same time.

Once you have gained this clarity for your life and identified what it is that will set you free, you will begin to enjoy your life and all the riches it has to offer. You and all those around you will begin to reap the rewards of this new you.

Now that you know exactly what you want, you will rid yourself of those time-wasting and unnecessary tasks that had been overwhelming you.

By doing less you will actually find that you are getting more accomplished. Your stress level will drop and your productivity will essentially double.
