Deathly Kiss
My heels clicked on the stone floors, click clack click clack, echoing down the silent hall. The darkness outside the windows on my right was as thick as honey. The night was my lover, and he was waiting for me.
I ran my tongue across my teeth, snagging the skin ever so slightly against my fangs. My stomach tightened when I thought of the blood about to be spilled and tasted. There was nothing like a human wiggling under me as I drank its life away. Yes I could hypnotize them into surrendering but what was the fun in that. I wanted the chase, the struggle, the excitement of a fresh and violent kill.
The second the giant double doors were open, I took off whispering through the trees as fast as lightening. There was a small village down the mountain, full of helpless humans just waiting for me. I came to a sudden halt at the ridge, the wind blowing my hair stopped instantly. I took a deep breath, I could smell them. Oh how I could smell them. They smelled so good. Smiling, I walked at a humanly pace toward the town.
Not many were out and about this time of the evening. Too many things that go bump in the night, making the pitiful humans hide and sulk inside their homes. As if that kept me out, I thought with a laugh. My head snapped to the left, there on the edge of the village someone was moving, alone. I twisted around a small hut and was two hovels over in a flash. A man stood, shirt off leaning against a tree. He was sweating and breathing heavily. Hmm, wonder what we’ve been doing.
I ran behind him, making only the slightest noise to make him look in my direction. He stood up straight and looked behind him. I ran around him again, the wind whooshing made him jerk his attention to his other side.
I laughed and watched him shiver and begin looking around in fear. I laughed again and ran closer. Close enough I could reach out and touch him. But I didn’t, not yet. Not until he ran. That’s when he’d taste the best. I ran circle after circle around him, making his head spin around and around as he tried to follow me. I stopped suddenly only inches in front of him.
“Hello,” I said sweetly. He took a step back, his back hitting the tree. I slowly walked toward him, enjoying the way his eyes flashed with fear yet he watched every movement I made. I took a deep breath, smelling him. I closed the distance too fast for him to see.
“Mmmm,” I moaned in his ear making him jump. I leaned back and smiled at him seductively as I ran a finger down his chest.
“Who are you?” he croaked out. His voice was nice and deep, with a slight accent that I wasn’t familiar with.
“Whoever you want me to be,” I said in a whisper. I fought back the urge to bite him then and there. I could taste his fear, and that with the scent of his blood made me shake with hunger. Too soon, it was still too soon.
“You’re a night walker aren’t you?” he said almost normally. I leaned back to look at him. The fear was subsiding.
“Night walker, vampire, demon, take your pick human,” I said pulling my lips back showing my fangs. That did it, the fear was back and I smiled.
“You’re too beautiful to be evil,” he said seriously even though his breath caught in his throat.
“Who says I’m evil?”
“Everyone. Your kind kills humans without remorse.”
“And you don’t kill animals without remorse?” I said tilting my head to the side.
“They are animals, not people,” he said with a shrug.
“They still have feelings. They have families. They are still living creatures that walk this earth with us,” I said breathlessly, almost singing the words.
“No they don’t.”
“How do you know?”
He just shook his head.
“I can hear them, just like I can hear you humans. I can feel their fear, their happiness, and their sadness. They feel the same as you, the same as me.”
“So you don’t kill humans?” he asked swallowing so hard I thought he’d choke.
“Sometimes,” I said. I took my finger and ran it back and forth across his lips, “It all depends on how I feel that day.”
He jerked away from me and tried to sidestep around me. I placed my hands on his shoulders and stopped him. He fought me, but couldn’t move.
“Uh uh, you are going nowhere,” I said sweetly.
“P-please,” he said shakily.
“P-please? You look so big and strong and you beg like a woman?” I said with a laugh. He stopped wiggling away from me. The look he gave me was of anger even though he never met my eyes.
“I beg for my life, I have something to live for,” he said.
“Don’t we all,” I said huskily. I took my hands away from his shoulders and trailed them down his slick skin. He shivered and I looked back at his face, he liked that. Oh how he liked that. I leaned into him, breathing into his ear and letting it sigh out in a moan. His hands instantly went to my arms, his fingers clinching around my skin.
“Someone has been a lonely boy,” I said into his ear.
“I didn’t know you creatures could mate,” he said crudely.
“Oh, we can do a great many things,” I said leaning into him fully, my arms resting on his chest. Maybe I’d keep this one around for a few days. It had been so long since I’d lain with a human.
He pulled me tighter, completely unafraid of me, “I’ll do anything as long as you promise not to kill me.”
I jumped away from him instantly causing him to stumble.
“I don’t make promises human. You will do anything I ask, until I’m through with you,” I said, I made the wind blow my hair and dress, fanning them around me rhythmically.
He took off running, as I knew he would. And like most dumb humans, he took off away from the people and toward the forest. I stood still letting him think he had a good head start. In a blink of an eye I was in front of him. He skidded to a stop, falling back onto the ground. I was on him in seconds, pinning him flat on his back in the cold forest floor.
“Running only turns me on more,” I said and licked his lips. His hips thrust against me as he turned his head away in shame. His need scented the air like candy. I sat up drinking in the smell deeply. I gazed down at him, his head was still turned away from me, and his breathing was hard and fast but no longer from the run. Something about the danger of me was exciting him to a fevered pitch. The shame he felt was almost as strong as his need.
I rocked my hips back against him, rubbing that hard length of him, making him moan and his hands flex. The sensation of him hard beneath me, sent heat coursing through my body. I leaned over kissing his neck, his ear and whispered to him sweetly.
“There’s nothing like a vampire lover, human. Let me show you,” I said.
