State Park
set the scene
blanket and beer
your striking
good looks helped,
but you were
too – fast, hard to resist
we made up words
to sing, as you
strummed your guitar
I shook
the blanket free
of bugs –
all you really wanted
was sex – sex – I wanted
to sing – create
I began my best song
you wanted bare legs
on a blanket
under an evergreen
sharp needles fell
pinching skin
laid the guitar
on grass
skin scratched
bruised in the park
Great poem!
