Starfish
A Starfish makes it
out of water
wanting more than
the deep blue
oceans to bloom
in and travel
in, boring friends
dull neighbors wanting
to touch the
surface of his
toes on sand
and not sandpaper
On the ocean’s
floors he does
the starfish dance
tango slowly while
no one is watching
he takes time
to breathe, making
his mark in
a new world,
a world out
from under the
deep blue seas.
