When you were a child, did you have someone you idolized?
Someone you looked up to. Someone you felt could protect you.
Who was your hero when you were a child?
Was it Batman, Spiderman or a mortal man you idolized?
Now that you are all grown up, do you still have a hero in your life?
Jesus is my hero. He is the love of my life.
He is my friend when I need someone to talk to.
He is that bright light if ever I’m afraid in the middle of the night.
He was crucified, he suffered, he gave up his life.
But he never left me alone to suffer in this world of inequity. He thought of me.
He sent the comforter, the Holy Spirit, the Angels to watch over and protect me.
That’s how much he loves me. That’s why he’s my hero.
Jesus the sacrificial lamb of God who died for you and me.
Jesus is my hero, not mortal man. Jesus is my Superman.
