Genius
I write
to you –
genius –
on the inside,
but more like me
on the outside
I tell you,
but you know it –
you are a genius;
I’m less than
you are –
on the inside
suddenly it grabs-
tugs at me, feeling as if
I don’t belong –
will I disappoint
you?
Will you hesitate
from the outside?
Very true Nancy,
We all have our doubts about being adequate, especially in the shadow of real geniuses (at least this how I read your poem).
Sandra
Hi Sandra – you are correct. We come from a world that continues to spin, for 24 hours, and we no longer have the time to sit and think about a new aquaintence, friend, and get to know them – because we are trying to compete with those around us, to have a chance at better things, new things, when we think of all those who work quicker, and are focused – to some their work may be work from a genius – although inside and outside we are different, but we are all equal when it comes to the ability to choose what our world will be and yes, we can choose our own speed to reach what we believe to be our success level. Thank you again, Nancy
