Blossom Princess
Blanketed with a snowflake shawl
she holds tight with rosy cheeks
Crowned as princess of the spring
she waits while winter seeks.
One last sweep across the meadow
a cold hand waves farewell
To all preserved in a frozen grasp
Mother Nature lifts her spell.
Free at last from fear of cold
The blossom princess reigns
Her short-lived place upon her throne
will end and fruit remains.
Long lives her selfless sacrifice
of beauty for nourishment sake
For all who dwell beneath her throne
will of her fruit partake.
