It used to hurt me deeply
until I understood
where it was coming from
Now I know it has nothing
to do with me
It’s unfortunate
but I can’t fix it
There’s no confronting you on it
which is part of the issue
I just have to let it go
and live my Truth
no longer having to prove
anything
to anyone
or to myself
It’s okay
it’s mild
there’s room to heal
The portraits of me
will just be art
and the memories as well
like drawing a picture
with words
