Staying Slim Forever

Slim Forever? You know that sometimes you just feel like you want to eat and eat and eat. Staying slim forever means taking the time to take inventory and see what’s behind your insatiable hunger?

What’s inventory about? Ask yourself when was the last time you ate? Should you be hungry? Did you get a balance of protein, fat, and carbohydrates? For example, not enough protein, no energy, and no full.

Not enough fat or no fat, no full, absolutely. All carbohydrates? That’s an answer to why you want to eat. Carbohydrates make you so hungry, especially if they are heavy on sugar.

Balance is always the key. You can eat sweets and such if you also eat them with protein.

Inventory Questions

Are you feeling emotionally hungry? Are you someone who purposely engages in positive self-care? You know what that means. Do you do it every day?

Are you really physically hungry? This is not just bodily hunger. It is also environmental hunger. How old is your mattress? Do you own a really comfortable chair? Do you like your surroundings at home? How does your home smell?

Have you thought about intellectual hunger? Think about the times you ate out of boredom? What’s that about? Intellectual deprivation. Stimulate your brain every day.

Social Hunger?

When was the last time you went out with people you really enjoy and had a really good time?

Occupational hunger? Are you fed and nourished in the work you do? If not, how can you change that without the risk of becoming homeless?

Spiritual hunger? Where is God in your life? How is God in your life? How often do you and God communicate?

You can see that over-active eating has a number of causes that have nothing to do with your belly.

After over 50 years of staying slim, I could go on and on. I know you know what to do. Can you do it? Or, do you need a little help that does not involve sticking to a diet, shelling out big bucks each month, or eating tasteless crap?

Your comments and questions are welcome.

A lot of people unfairly labelled obese, eat more than their bodies can assimilate for reasons far too many to list here.

Some people are naturally large, others are naturally thin. Fashion, advertising and peer pressure have a lot to answer for, don’t you think?

In my book, eat a little of everything and stop worrying about what other people may think of you.
