Interview with author Carolyn Bennett.

Paul Collins–Tell us about your background. Who you are, where you are from?

Carolyn Bennett- Hi Paul.  Well I was born and raised in the heart of the beautiful Ottawa Valley, in the small city of Pembroke, Ontario.  Shortly after graduating high school I moved to Toronto and lived in various communities around the GTA for over 25 years.  I returned to my hometown in May of this year.  I am a single mother as well as a paranormal investigator.

Paul Collins–What themes does your book explore and what do you hope the readers will take away from the experience?

author-Carolyn-BennettCarolyn Bennett- My books are about paranormal investigating.  But not what you see on TV.  No.  Book 1 in the Coast to Coast Paranormal Investigations series has been called “every investigator’s worst nightmare!” I guess I want people to feel the fear my characters feel. When they are reading my book I want them to feel like they just can’t put it down; that they have to know what happens next.

Paul Collins–What prompted you to be an author and did you have a specific inspiration in mind? Were you influenced by a certain person, artist, or genre?

Carolyn Bennett- There was no specific artist or author who inspired me to write.  It was my own drive and interest and deep desire to return to paranormal investigating that influenced me to work on this series.

Paul Collins–If you could compare your book to any other existing works, which ones would it be and why?

Carolyn Bennett- I am not aware of any current books that I could compare my books to.

Paul Collins–Tell us about your latest work and what inspired you.

Carolyn Bennett- Coast to Coast Paranormal Investigations is a series of paranormal mysteries based on a fictional team.  I went through a very difficult period in my life in 2012.  I had to give up paranormal investigation the year before simply because I could not afford it.  My team was going on investigations without me.  I could not give the team the commitment of my time due to my financial situation and my job which had me working mostly evenings and weekends.  I resigned.  I was heartbroken.  Paranormal investigating was one of my passions.   I was watching one of the many paranormal shows on TV one night and that’s when I realized that I could return to paranormal investigating by writing about it.

Paul Collins–How can your readers contact you? Or buy your books? Or where can they sign up for a newsletter.

Carolyn Bennett- There are plenty of ways readers can contact me.  The website where people can get information on the book is: www.coasttocoastparanormal.com.

Here is a brief synopsis of Coast to Coast Paranormal Investigations – Book 1 that could go with the article, as requested:
Coast to Coast Paranormal Investigations is the first in a series of paranormal action-packed mysteries.  Leigh MacLeod is a young widow with a passion for ghost hunting. After years of struggling both financially and emotionally, fate finally smiles down on the feisty lead investigator.

She sets out to realize her dream and begins to build her own state-of-the-art professional paranormal investigation team. Her team gains access to Greenhurst, an abandoned hospital for the criminally insane and a hotbed of violent paranormal activity. Excitement soon turns to tragedy, however, when an angry spirit lashes out, nearly killing Leigh. Though she survives, her life and her team are devastated. Worse, the evil spirit has attached itself to Leigh.

As she struggles to rebuild her life, the entity works to undermine her sanity and eventually threatens her life. Suddenly the ghost hunter must become the client. The remnants of Leigh’s team join forces with another group of investigators in a daring plan to return to Greenhurst and face the evil entity head on. You follow her heart wrenching battle as she is locked literally in a fight to survive.
