Government and the People

Get to the Bottom of why he was elected by the people – there was a time when parties got along – and what the people wanted was clearly part of the agenda, all of this has changed, and the agenda is now a one-sided circus.

This is not the first administration nor will it be the last, our country and its politics have changed dramatically.

rights-of-the-people

There was a time when you could agree to disagree, and a time when you would shake hands over a glass of bourbon in a local pub and smile at one another even if you knew you did not go along with the left or right.

America has elected political figures that are running on useless criticism; how good does this one look, maybe he should lose weight, maybe she should grow her hair longer, why was he not here for the vote?

I am sure they have a tally board with checkmarks, keeping track of who has received enough insults – what about the people? We did not vote for someone because they were thin, we did not vote for a party to disregard the people because they are in charge and want to keep it that way and not give in.  There has not been an administration without ridicule, for some time.

So what happens during these days; the people are hurt. Last night when I heard the news concerning student loans, to me it was just another subject to sink their teeth into. Don’t they realize by knocking down everything that the people voted for basically they are showing off like the old boys club and knocking down the wrong door: people know far too much than they ever have concerning the world of politics.

There was no way on earth any president could have fixed everything during his first term; he was left with the biggest mess in America’s history. During a war, like World War II, for example, America prospered because of the manufacturing of arms, tanks, airplanes, and more.

Folks, it’s no longer the forties, and the people are doing without, on all ends of this disaster. When we elect a president and the Congress is supporting the other side of the aisle nothing ever gets done they forgot how to compromise. Perhaps they should open their eyes and understand that Americans know more about politics and what’s happening in the federal government and they are paying attention. I believe it’s about time the people of this country speak out, let others know exactly how they feel. It’s becoming too common to be a face in the crowd or someone who just pull the lever in a voting booth.

How do we expect a president to do his job and get things done when everything is thrown in his face? And you know as well as I do, this has been done before, but how lucky we were that we had the intelligence to believe in our president regardless of what was said and he brought us out of debt. You must be strong enough with the will to win and fight your battle amongst your opponent this is what we need today.

I understand I continue bringing up healthcare, but every month I hear the same question, “when will we be able to obtain the maintenance drug we took for nearly a lifetime?”

So it’s the beginning of the month again and the question continues. Has anyone listened to us?  Do those who have been appointed to national office believe in the people who placed them there, or do they simply ignore you?

As the months go by we see no change, it’s time to speak up, make your own point known and get to the bottom of why.

I’ve always found it interesting that we are now where we are even though there were some very intelligent people who saw it coming.

“Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote. ” – and –

“When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic.” Benjamin Franklin (1706 – 1790)

Defend who you wish, support who you wish but always be cognizant of who is the wolf and who is the lamb…!

OK, let me add another BF:
“They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.”

    Choices, oh dear…

Thank you RH and Angie for your thoughts on this topic – as you know I could go on forever with my thoughts on what is right and wrong regarding politics, but regarding this – we the people who pulled the level should have the right to know… simple sentence, simple answer, and I agree – Freedom was why people flocked here, and without the freedoms we have had in the past due to greed, we will never be the America of those who once had a dream. Always, Nancy
