Brien O’Raighne
Paul Collins interviews author and ‘artist extraordinaire’ Brien O’Raighne.
Tell us about your background. Who you are, where you are from?
I am from Houston, Texas. My name is Brien O’Raighne. I am a divorced father of one.
What themes does your book explore and what do you hope the readers will take away from the experience? Is there a particular feeling or experience that you hope to evoke for the reader?
I hope that the people who read the book will take enjoyment from it. I hope to grab the reader and have them be rooting for the major characters within.
What prompted you to be an author and did you have a specific inspiration in mind? Were you influenced by a certain person, artist, or genre?
I have always had a story to tell and have loved reading since I can remember. Many authors out there influenced me. Mostly by the Sci-Fi genre. Sci-Fi in my opinion really can handle the gamut of other genres within using the basis of high technology.
If you could compare your book to any other existing works, which ones would it be and why?
This book could be compared to a Star Wars book, so to speak. I have been a Star Wars fan since I could remember.
Tell us about your latest work and what inspired you.
My latest work is Royal Pains, the first book of the Bloodlines Trilogy of the Starshot Chronicles saga. Like I said, the inspiration originally came from Star Wars, but with a little Dungeons & Dragons, X-Men, Stargate, Star Trek, etc., mixed in.
