lady in red Women in Red more DesirableMaybe the Lady in Red was on to something after all.

Two University of Rochester researchers say they've conducted a study that finds men really are more attracted to women who wear red.

Psychology Professor Andrew Elliot and researcher Daniel Niesta say their study found that the color red makes men feel more amorous toward women -- without the men being aware of it.

Psychological experiments conducted for the study found that women wearing red clothing or shown in a picture with a red frame were described by male test subjects as prettier and more desirable.

The same women were also described as "more sexually desirable" when wearing red or when positioned against a red background while wearing other colors.

The effect only worked on males, and not in reverse.
