Have you made your New Year’s Resolution for 2012? - A new year ought to bring new chances and new opportunities–also in the dating game.

Is one of your New Year’s resolutions to find Mr. Right?  Many a resolution is forgotten before Valentine’ s Day rolls around. Let me give you a few pointers so this doesn’t happen.

dating 300x300 Quest for loveLike in any other realm of life, these changes won’t come about automatically. It’s the resolution s you’re making of maybe a new behavior behind it that brings the change.  What can you do differently? Where else can you put yourself out in the world of dating? What new strategies could you try? Maybe all it takes is a change in attitude and expectations? Some self- reflection, scrutiny of one’s situation and a proactive effort to open up to new possibilities you haven’t considered before? Do you need to change your attitude a little, your activities or maybe even your looks?  Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying you need to lose weight or undergo cosmetic surgery. Sometimes a new haircut, a new outfit can give you the boost you need to perk up new confidence and put a spring in your step.

Maybe you decide to give up on dating for a while after a bad experience. That’s ok too if that’s what you need and not a decision made out of loss of hope or fear of rejection.

Dating is a numbers game. Love doesn’t knock on your door while you’re sitting at home watching a sitcom with a take-away on your lap. Be proactive, invite laughter and love into your life. Be ready to spot it whenever you encounter it.
