AD Newsletter April 2012

Top Stories & Articles

Greetings,

I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation to you and to all that sponsor and promote our magazine!

The purpose of this newsletter is to keep you up to speed of our endeavors, inform you of the latest magazine developments and to extend some useful tips.

Our focus remains unchanged: To provide reputable, published authors AND aspiring writers the best possible opportunities to get read, published, and sell (more) books. Your sustained support and brilliant feedback motivates us never to stray from this path.

Exposure is key
In our magazine your original stories, articles and expertise may be exposed to hundreds of thousands or even millions of people, rather than waiting passively for someone to syndicate it on yet another website, Facebook, Twitter or Google+ page with no traffic.

Basic Account
This free account gives authors full exposure of their submitted work. Every post gets edited and formatted, with carefully chosen or created visuals, in the same fashion as we handle a post from a VIP member.

VIP Account
We’ve added exposure to additional social media for our VIPs, most importantly: Pinterest, Tumblr and Google+

NEW: Publisher Account
We added more spice to our magazine, and inspired by the continued requests of several publishers, we decided to add a Publisher Account to our program. This membership enables Publishers to take advantage of promoting their authors and their company simultaneously, as a package. Author profiles and book sale info are placed in post footer. Publisher accounts are entitled to have a rotating ad on our homepage for the duration of the membership.AD Author of the Month Award

Author of the Month
The winner of this prestigious monthly contest receives, in addition to the extra media exposure, a rotating, graphic advertisement on all inner pages of the magazine. Our Graphic dpt. will create and place the ad according to the winner’s request. Join me in congratulating last month’s contest winner Cynthia Metcalf Miller!

How do you stand to profit?
Now, more than ever, we provide massive exposure for your submitted work. An increasing amount of Publishing Houses and Literary Agencies is joining our ranks, meaning even more exposure and opportunities for you and your work. We shall give them a voice in our coming newsletters.

What can you do yourself to boost your work and writing vocation?
Your own marketing efforts should include the placing of links to your work on Angie’s DIARY on your own blogs, websites and social media. Check here if you would like to use one of our banners.

Every writer takes pride in her/his work, and giving critiques and commenting on your colleagues’ work in our magazine, will be very much appreciated and almost certainly be reciprocated.

Ad space and links
To get additional exposure and credibility, check out our ad options and rates.

Talented but broke?
Waiving all objections from “experts” in the business, staff members and colleagues, I’ve decided to give a VIP upgrade to a limited amount of registered users that find themselves (temporarily) in dire straits. This will not happen automatically. You’ll have to come forward and convince us of your legitimate claim in order to be considered for this upgrade, using this application form and this password: FREEVIP3. In case your claim is accepted, we do expect an even higher level of involvement with the magazine, and a strong engagement for writing critiques and commenting on your colleagues’ work (in addition to being prolific in your quality submissions.)

Attack of the Giant Cult Films

Attack of the Giant Cult Films

The definition of a cult film is as slippery as any eel. Around its boundaries are pure camp movies, hopelessly dated films, movies so bad they’re good, and the like. Authorities seem never to agree on one unambiguous definition for a cult classic. There will, apparently, always be fuzzy edges and movies argued for and [...]

Creativity: The Cruellest of All Mistresses

Creativity: The Cruellest of All Mistresses

For those of us who worship at the feet of the goddess Creativity, we willingly give ourselves over to her. In our bid to placate her, we sacrifice everything else which to most people seems essential like a normal life, if we are at all serious about what we do, or should that read obsessive [...]

Beyond Infinity: Behind the Brick Wall

Beyond Infinity: Behind the Brick Wall

Scientists say our brains are sort of like super-sophisticated computers and that everything we have experienced since birth, and maybe even before that, is stored away in our hard-drives. People under hypnosis have described in detail events from early childhood; parents and other adults present when the events occurred later confirmed the accuracy of the [...]

A Quiet Vendetta

A Quiet Vendetta

Enter the world of a Medical Examiner as he takes you through the process of discovering a corpse, placing it on the table, seeing where it was found and the work needed to identify the person in order to show respect for who he/she was. The car is unique, the smell is overwhelming and the [...]

A City Where the Monster Rules

A City Where the Monster Rules

It began way back when streets were cluttered with cars, people, and one big company which was known to light the world – until the times began to change, but Papa believed things would never change, even the boys in fancy cars making fun of a fat girl – or going downtown where she would steal, and walk out after buying me a hot fudge sundae – she changed but the city still has some monsters hanging around.
