Please Tell Me

What, in your opinion, are the most popular articles and stories for readers?

reading 300x169 Write Tip Social Media Self Publishing Books Reading a Book People and Society Online Writing Online Magazines How Do I Get Published Entertainment Creative Writing Business News Book Publishing Book of the Week Please Tell MeIt’s a simple question really. Do you actually enjoy reading about say, Politics, History, Medical Issues, Adventure, Romance, Erotic stories, How to…, or something else?

I’ve seen some fine writing on these subjects with several garnering almost no comments and others with, well, a few, maybe more, but what makes a piece “viral”? What makes you want to comment and share it? What makes you go, “OOoooooo, I absolutely HAVE to send this to Mergatroid and Gerhard!”

I’d love to know what you really think (and do) so please, give us a wee bit of your time.

 Comments please…?

What constitutes a popular article, story, poem or review, cannot be simply defined RH, as it is all down to personal choice.

Whether or not you choose to comment, or not, is also governed by personal choice. We cannot make people like what we write, or insist that they comment.

As the author of that article, story, poem etc, naturally you are biased in its favour. It simply doesn’t follow that others will share your enthusiasm, no matter how much you wish it were so. :D

Thank you for commenting Jack and your comments are probably quite true. However, you haven’t answered the question. You’ve said what won’t make people comment but you haven’t said what will make YOU “want to comment and share”.

So, what is your “personal choice”?

I beg to differ RH. I said that it is a matter of personal choice, or if you prefer, personal preference for a particular writing style or a specific type of story. – even its genre. :)

Understood but, what is your personal choice Jack? :)

I probably don’t fit into any group as I don’t have any specific type I would place above all the others under the heading ‘Favourite’.

If something is well written I will read it. I read everything here in Angie’s DIARY for that very reason.

But will I comment? Not necessarily – it all depends whether or not I have something to say about the particular piece.

Thank you Jack. I asked to learn and you just helped me do a little of that.
